Marc J. Murphy

Mr. Murphy's career in the building industry has spanned more than 20 years. Having an architect as a father, a career in the building industry was a natural choice for him.  Mr. Murphy's beginnings  were, in fact, with his father's firm in the 1970's, where he served as a draftsman.

In 1980, Mr. Murphy joined forces with Doer Development to specialize in providing affordable rental housing.  While serving as the company's Secretary-Treasurer, he managed the construction of 15 projects, consisting of 185 units. These were primarily financed by government-sponsored programs (HUD).

In response to a building and economic slowdown, Mr. Murphy decided to further his opportunities in 1984 by enrolling at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.  In 1987, he successfully completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management within the School of Architecture and Environmental Design at Cal Poly.

After graduation, Mr.  Murphy was hired by Shea Homes, Southern California Division, as a Project Manager. For the next seven years, he managed some of Southern California's most premier communities. He was primarily responsible for planning, engineering, design, governmental approval, project management, and cost control for three master planned communities, comprising over 3,200 acres and 7,900 homes.

At present, Mr. Murphy continues to provide land acquisition/project management  assistance for several major western United States builders.
